Beginner's Mind
A while back in a post entitled "how to run game", I wrote that in essence all you need to do is be is curious about someone else..you just have to WANT to find out who they are, how they got there, and where they're going.
What you need to experience this state is called the "Beginner's Mind".
A mind free of judgement or preconcieved notions.
Only when you see the world as it is, and not as a collection of your past judgements, can you begin to connect with strangers on this very real level.

How odd that you have to forget about the world and focus inward in order to really start to "see" the underlying truth that you couldn't grasp. It's like those grainlike pictures with an integrated 3d shape. Sometimes you have to stop looking and try again to see the shape.
Cool stuff. I like what said about stopping the endless pursuit of high-energy, high-instesity party state. I personally have stopped looking that myself. You become addicted to buying temperature which is not what you want.
